“This eye-catching ‘Mountain Family’ mixed media sculpture features a complete black bear family. The sculpture is uniquely designed with the father bear’s head hand-carved in frosted Lucite, appearing to oversee the mother and two cubs as they play on a log below.
The figures are masterfully crafted from fine metals including pewter and bronze, then finished with a ‘hot patina’ technique—using heat and acid to permanently oxidize lifelike colors into the metal. The entire scene is encased in optically clear, hand-carved Lucite to create a stunning three-dimensional snapshot of wildlife in its natural habitat.
